When I approached the then blank canvas for Mind Over Matter, I knew I wanted to try a different technique. I was still in my floral phase, probs will always be in a swirly, girlie, floral frame of mind, BUT! I know as an artist and person I am changing, growing, morphing, rearranging my spirit of the dance, the creative, artistic dance. And with this particular painting I wanted the most fussy stencil I had on hand to create the background texture. Once the molding paste dried, the magic began! For the title Mind Over Matter, simply put is the definition: The use of willpower to overcome physical problems or challenges. Our ability to use our minds to self-regulate in the moment when situations or events seem out of our control.
