When approaching the then blank canvas for Mind Over Matter, I wanted to try a different technique. As an artist and person, I'm changing, growing and morphing. With this particular painting I wanted the fussiest stencil I had on hand to create the background texture. Once the modeling pastes dried, the magic began!
For the title Mind Over Matter, simply put is the definition: The use of willpower to overcome physical problems or challenges. Our ability to use our minds to self-regulate in the moment when situations or events seem out of our control. Which really is the state of mind for most artist work when we are in the flow.
This painting is mesmerizing and will make a wonderful statement piece for any home or office.
