As I began this painting, she was demanding a more sophisticated outcome.
What surprised me most was how it felt to create her. There was a quiet focus in the process—steady, intentional, and almost meditative. I found myself slowing down, paying closer attention, and letting each flower, leaf, stem, and berry unfold in its own time.
Scarlett came together through that sense of calm and care, each layer building gently into something that feels both refined and grounded. There’s a softness to her, but also a quiet strength that holds the piece together.
She’s the kind of painting that settles in beautifully—adding warmth, interest, and a gentle elegance without asking for too much attention. Although she wants it all!
This piece would be stunning in any room, but I especially see her in a powder room, bedroom, office, or entryway—somewhere she can be noticed in those quiet, everyday moments.
